What is the Wedgwood Move-A-Thon?

The Move-A-Thon is a major fundraiser for this school year. It's a super fun event that takes place on the playground, during the school day, and by grade level. All students participate. There will be a DJ and music, appearances from our Mascot Marty, all kids moving, and celebratory popcorn! Students will all receive a t-shirt, designed by one of our very own 5th graders to showcase this event.

It's so inspiring to see the passion and commitment of Wedgwood's students as they run, walk, skip, and just move their way to our fundraising goals.

How does the fundraising work?

This year we are using an online system that makes it much easier for you to request pledges from your family and friends, and for them to make secure credit card donations online. Say goodbye to paper pledge sheets - instead register your student and follow the prompts to share it with friends and family.

Donations can be made on a per lap basis or flat donation. On the day of the Move-A-Thon students move around a 1/8th mile track for 20 minutes with their grade. We will have volunteers recording your child’s total laps and then enter those numbers into the online system. Donors will then be notified of your student’s final lap count.

We need parent volunteers! This is a great way to support the school and your student(s)!

Spectators are also welcome, so come cheer on your kiddo and join the festivities!

All visitors and volunteers will need to sign in on the day of the event at the main office through the front doors.

What does the PTA raise money for? Learn more here

Is my child required to turn in pledges? No. Though we are hoping that every student at Wedgwood can collect at least one pledge, there is absolutely no requirement to do so. If every student can turn in $150, we will reach our target goal. Every student will participate on event day, and every student will get a T-shirt as a thank you for moving for Wedgwood!!

Are the pledges tax-deductible or eligible for matching gifts? Yes. 100% of your donation is tax-deductible, as allowed by law.  Our school Tax ID number is 91-1260518.  Please check with your employer to see if they offer matching funds.
