Wedgwood Potluck TONIGHT!

Please join us this Thursday, October 25 for a Wedgwood Elementary Potluck in the cafeteria from 5-7 p.m. This event will be a great chance to meet other Wedgwood families and to connect with your friends and neighbors. Principal Liu will be on hand to meet your family and answer any questions you may have about Wedgwood. Pizza will be provided so bringing a dish to pass is optional. As a consideration for individuals with nut allergies, please avoid dishes with peanuts, tree nuts and/or peanut oil.

Move-a-thon packets come home this week!

The Move-a-Thon is the second of three PTA fundraisers for the year and is the only one where kids do all of the fundraising! Be on the lookout for your student’s pledge packet which will come home this week via kidmail. You’ll use the front page to record your fundraising and fill the envelope with donations after the Move-a-thon. Important dates and details can be found inside the packet. Every student who raises money or donates coins in the lobby will be eligible for prizes!

Kids at Wedgwood tell us that the Move-a-thon is one of their favorite days at school. The student-designed shirts, popcorn and Red Vines, and DJ music are things they remember all year.

And ... we need your help to put on this beloved school event! To volunteer for the Move-a-thon, check out the SignUpGenius here.

Survey about pickleball courts at Eckstein

Want to play pickleball? Friends of Eckstein MS Pickleball committee is requesting your participation in a survey to document community support for this construction project. No FINANCIAL OBLIGATION IS ASSOCIATED WITH THIS SURVEY. We are looking for an electronic “ show of hands” of those who support this project. The survey data is an important part of the Department of Neighborhoods grant application we hope to submit in November. Any one who lives in the city of Seattle boundaries may participate.

**Take the survey here.

Any questions? Pickleballeckstein@gmail.com, Kathy Schmidtke, neighbor and former Eckstein parent.

Move those feet: It's Walktober

Are you tracking your walking in October? October is also known as Walktober and is International Walk to School Month? You should have received a walking minutes logfor each student in Kid Mail so you can track your walking in October. Turn it in at the end of the month and we'll see which classroom has walked the most! Any walking counts -- not just walking to school. This is a great warm-up for the Move-a-Thon.
