PTA After School Enrichment (ASE)

Wedgwood Elementary PTA offers a variety of after school enrichment (ASE) classes and clubs. Courses are offered during three sessions- fall, winter & spring.

  • Enrollment in ASE is open to all students of Wedgwood Elementary.

  • ASE programs are at Wedgwood Elementary and begin after the regular school day ends.

  • ASE programs are closed if there is no school or if there is an unexpected early release.

  • Fees are paid directly to the class during the registration process. Do not pay any fees to Wedgwood PTA.

  • Scholarships are available and given no questions asked. Please contact School Nurse Jessica Prince.

  • Students will dismiss from school straight to ASE. Parents are expected to pick their child up on time when their class ends.

  • PTA policy requires that a chaperone is present for each class. If no chaperone is available, class will be cancelled. Being a chaperone has flexibility. You may commit to chaperone for just 1 day or make a recurring commitment. A class discount is available to those who can commit to chaperoning the whole session. At the discretion of the instructor, you may assist with class, or simply be present and available if needs arise.

  • Some classes may have more registrants than slots available. In that case, your child’s name will be entered in a lottery.

After School Care

Kid’s Time

Wedgwood Kids Time is a licensed school age care program dedicated to high quality childcare with professional staff devoted to the well-being of children. Kids Time is located on-site at Wedgwood Elementary in the Kid’s Time Portable. At Kids Time, children will play and learn through recreational activities such as arts and culture, environmental stewardship, health and fitness, academic support and more. Children currently enrolled in Kindergarten through 5th grade (between the ages of five and twelve) are welcome. Program begins when school releases and runs until 6 PM. They are open during school breaks, professional development days, and early release days. Kids Time provides a variety of games, field trips, and cooking projects with a focus on health and well-being, physical activities, art, science and math activities in addition to daily opportunities for children to build positive social skills. They provide care for all non-school weekdays, break camps, and summer camps, with the exception of holidays. KidsPlay Fitness & Homework Club

KidsPlay is an after school program operated by a parent of two Wedgwood graduates. It began as a program for families with non-traditional work schedules, which are much more common these days and has evolved into a part-time to full-time program available to all families. KidsPlay provides time for students to complete their homework and to read, as well as giving them the opportunity to participate in group fitness activities. The expectations of the students are to take part in the physical fitness sessions, completion of homework and to read their allotted time.

YMCA

The Y is proud to partner with the Seattle School District to provide high-quality, active learning opportunities designed to engage and expand young minds. Through our Before and After-School Enrichment (BASE) program, we provide a safe, caring, and fun environment where kids can participate in sports, arts, STEM, and other hands-on learning activities.
