  • No drop off or pick up in the staff parting lot off 86th. No U-turns here, either. Kindergarten gathers in this lot for pickup and no vehicles are allowed coming or going during these times.

  • Getting our children to and from school safely is our number one priority. Take your time, obey the crossing guard, and be vigilant as our mornings get darker and wetter in the months to come. Thank you!

PTA Volunteers Needed!

Kindergarten Social

WANTED! Kindergarten parents looking to throw a party!

Are you a kindergarten parent looking for a fun way to volunteer?!? We've got just the event for you. We need a kindergarten parent(s) to organize this year's Kindergarten Social! This is a yearly tradition to bring our kinder families together and let families get to know each other.

The Social is Thursday, October 10th from 6-8 pm. Organizers would order pizzas, arrange parent volunteers for set up and clean up, and find volunteers for purchasing party supplies and food. And don't worry - the PTA Events and Volunteers team will help you out along the way!

If this sounds like a good time to you, please contact Chantel Anderson at marmotptaevents@gmail.com.

Community Sponsorship Chair

This year the PTA is seeking for a volunteer to chair our business sponsorship efforts for the Move-a-Thon and the Auction. This position would foster past business sponsor relationships, as well as seek out and form new relationships with local businesses in the community. If you’re interested, please email fundraising chair Justin Day at justindayrealestate@gmail.com.

Reflections 2019-2020

Want to help students explore their own thoughts, feelings and ideas AND develop artistic literacy? We need 1-2 volunteers to organize and gather Reflections art projects for the 2019-2020 program! Reflections is a national PTA arts program in which students create art in response to a theme. This year's theme is “Look Within.” For more information visit the Reflections website or contact Chantel Anderson at marmotptaevents@gmail.com. Without a parent lead to organize, students may not be able to participate. Deadline for parent lead is Friday, Sept. 27.

Wedgwood Musical: Parent Information Meeting

James and the Giant Peach is rolling into town! If your 3rd-5th grader is interested in participating in the musical this year, at least one parent must attend one parent information meeting (adults only, no kids please). This meeting is for parents of kids interested in being in the cast; there will be a separate meeting for parents of kids interested in tech crew at a later date.

At the meeting, we will cover important attendance and discipline policies, parent volunteer requirements, schedule, and fees. This is a great time to ask questions if you or your child are unsure about participating. There are two meeting dates for you to choose from: Sunday, September 22 from 4-5pm and Tuesday, October 1 from 6-7pm. Meetings take place in Portable 1. If you have any questions about the parent meeting, please email wedgwoodmusical@gmail.com.

Congratulations, Ms. Guise!

Congratulations to our wonderful Special Education teacher Donna Guise! On Thursday she was presented with the Symetra Heroes in the Classroom Award—in coordination with the Seattle Seahawks—for her commitment and dedication to students, their families, and the school. Representatives from Symetra and the Seahawks surprised Ms. Guise and the rest of the school with the award at the all-school assembly.

Ms. Guise was nominated by Assistant Principal Christy Smith and a Wedgwood parent.  Ms. Guise won $2000 for her classroom, tickets to the Seahawks vs. Saints game, VIP field access before the game, and other prizes.  The students and staff had a great time celebrating with Ms. Guise and the achievement for her work.  We are so thankful to have Ms. Guise as a part of our Wedgwood community, and if you see her around remember to congratulate her for this well-deserved award!

Calling All 5th Graders: Move-A-Thon T-Shirt Contest!

It’s that time of the year! Our annual fall fundraiser is approaching, and Wedgwood 5th graders are invited to submit a design for the event T-shirts. The shirts will be worn at the Move-A-Thon by Wedgwood students, teachers, and staff and are a fun way to show your Wedgwood spirit throughout the year!

Designs must be hand drawn on white 8.5x11 paper and may include only the following colors: black white, yellow, and blue. All submissions should be representative of our school and/or school mascot and must include the words “Wedgwood Move-A-Thon 2019.”

Artist’s name should be written in pencil on the BACK of his or her entry. Winner will be announced at the Move-A-Thon assembly on October 23rd. Submit entries to your teacher by Thursday, September 26th. No late entries will be accepted! Contact Lillian with any questions: 1lilliankeil@gmail.com.
