Why Did the Marmot Cross the Track? To get Moving for the Move-A-Thon!

Look for Move-A-Thon packets coming home with your student this week, and in the meantime visit the PTA website for everything you need to know about this fun-filled, kid-powered fundraiser, including important details about your child's schedule, pledges, prizes, and how to set a lap goal.

We need your support to make the day of the Move-A-Thon a success! Please check out volunteer opportunities here. If you haven't had a chance to volunteer before, please join us for this special celebration of our community. Watch the kids fly around the track to the tunes of a live DJ, get high fives from Marty the Marmot and bask in their success with red vines and popcorn.

Thank You for Making the Pledge Drive a Success!

Our annual Pledge Drive has come to an end, and we want to thank our Wedgwood families for your support! It's because of our generous community that we are able to provide support and financial resources for so many programs, community-building events and, most importantly, directly into our teachers' classrooms. If you were unable to donate and would like to, your contribution will still be graciously accepted.

Math Information Night this Thursday

Join Principal Liu this Thursday evening from 6:00-7:30pm to learn more about math curriculum at Wedgwood. Mr. Liu will explain the scope and sequence of math learning from Kindergarten through 8th grade, as well as the options students will have once they start middle school. Students are welcome to attend with their parents. And while you’re there, check out the Art Walk! More info below.

Submit your Art to Reflections

Do you enjoy art, music and dance, or have an interest in writing, producing films and taking photos? Then join us and have fun unleashing your inner artist with PTA Reflections! This year’s theme, “Look Within,” calls for your own unique interpretation through the arts.

Pick up submission guidelines and an entry form today in the office or from Ms. Voelk (or download here) and return to the PTA box in the office by November 4thVisit the Reflections website for more information.

Help! Our Choir is Too Big!

Due to the HUGE amount of participating students in our Wedgwood Choir (112!), we need one parent volunteer for each week to help with choir rehearsal. This volunteer would be available to help kids who may need assistance, walk kids to and from the restrooms, or take care of any other odd jobs that may arise. Having a huge choir is a great problem to have, but requires additional support for emergencies and the overall safety of the program. Ms. Waltzer can’t do it on her own! Parents, please choose one slot to help support our singers’ success!

Marmot Art Lines the Hallways

ur amazing art teacher Beth Voelk has been hard at work lining the hallways with over 700 pieces of Marmot art! Make sure to see this huge display of wooly mammoths, trojan helmets, and Roman goblets during Math Night this Thursday evening. Thank you, Ms. Voelk! And to keep up with all the fantastic art our students have been churning out, follow @marmot_art on Instagram.

Thank you, Janeen!

Thank you to parent volunteer Janeen Joshi for putting on the Kindergarten Social, and for everyone who volunteered their time and attended this fun celebration. Ridge Pizza graciously gave us a huge discount on pizza for the event, enabling us to feed all who came. Thank you Janeen, and to all who made it possible!
